Our Founder
—-——— Riverside Gorilla Lodge was founded by Timothy Ashaba, a native of Bwindi whose family has lived beside the forest for generations. His vision was to create a place where visitors could experience the majesty of Bwindi while directly supporting its people and wildlife. Timothy’s passion for conservation and community upliftment led to partnerships with the Batwa community and the Africa Conservation Program, ensuring that every guest stay contributes to local well-being and the preservation of Bwindi’s biodiversity.
